Promoting climate resilience in our built environment is essential for ensuring social equity and justice, as the impacts of climate change often disproportionately affect marginalized communities.

By promoting resilience, we can reduce the risk of climate-related disasters and improve the well-being of their residents, especially those who are most vulnerable.

At a national level, City Insight developed a framework for building more resilient basic infrastructure.

At a local level, City Insight worked on the development of a guidebook on climate change vulnerability for uMgungundlovu District Municipality.  This showed how climate-related issues can be brought into planning and infrastructure development plans and municipal land use planning processes.

In many reports produced by City Insight, planning for climate change, disasters and vulnerability is addressed.
