PLANNINGand STRATEGY

Planning and Strategy : Planning can be defined as the process of setting goals, defining strategies, and allocating resources to achieve those goals; while strategy is the set of decisions and actions that are taken to achieve a particular goal or objective. In other words, strategy provides the framework for planning.

City Insight’s planning work typically involves the following steps:

  1. Setting goals and objectives: Identifying the desired outcomes and defining specific targets or objectives that need to be achieved.

2. Conducting a situational analysis: Analysing the current situation and identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.

3. Developing strategies and action plans: Based on the situational analysis, strategies are developed to achieve the goals and objectives. Action plans are then developed to implement the strategies.

4. Allocating resources: Resources such as finances, personnel, and equipment are allocated to the action plans.

5. Monitoring and evaluation: Progress is monitored and evaluated regularly to ensure that the desired outcomes are being achieved, and to make any necessary adjustments to the plans.
