The concept of smart cities has received significant attention in recent years, as cities around the world have sought to address the challenges of urbanization and climate change.
Through harnessing the power of technology and data, smart cities have the potential to transform the way in which we live and work in especially urban environments, and create more sustainable, resilient, and equitable cities for all.

Analysing the fourth Industrial revolution (4IR) and its implications for local government. This involved an analysis of the international literature on the ways in which the 4IR could impact on municipalities. This also included proposing ways in which these lessons could lead to municipalities becoming more prepared to embrace the fourth industrial revolution.
Developing SMART city strategies for Lucknow and Namchi in India.
Creating a National Spatial Economic Opportunity Electronic Atlas – an online portal of information to a ward level, integrating hundreds of data sources, including models and indicators.
